“Leading by example. Less screen-time ideas for adults”

  • Detox 48hrs (ie turn the phone off during the weekend and/or after work) 
  • Leave your phone behind when leaving the house 
  • Leave the phone in a different room/floor from the one you are in
  • Turn off 1h before bed & do not use until 1h after waking up. 
  • Delete the apps that invite to endless scrolling 
  • Have a ‘Phone station’ that you can check, but the phone won’t come with you
  • Turn off notifications
  • Put devices away when in the company of family & friends
  • Use ‘do not disturb’ mode 
  • Set up limits on screen time 
  • Set up a timer for use/search, then move on to other tasks. 
  • Stay active (ie. outdoor activities) 
  • Keep screen devices out of the bedroom
  • Use an analoge clock to wake up
  • Family time, such as meals, is screen-free time 
  • Set up ‘greyscale’ on your phone
  • Do not use your phone if you are laying down
  • Use of different apps to lock app use after a certain time.
